TIP OF THE WEEK:

Don't shop on an empty stomach

Supermarkets are cleverly designed to tantalise the senses, tempting you to buy products that you don't really need. Cast your mind back and think how many times you've just nipped out for milk and returned with a bulging bag. If you enter this environment with a rumbling stomach you will end up buying what you fancy at the time and if you're starving, it will usually be carbohydrate-based, as people crave sugar when hungry. So plan your shopping list well in advance and go when you know you won't be peckish.

Get Back on Track with MRPT

Succeeding with your new year’s resolution?

Many of us made the annual new year’s resolution, but how many of us have actually achieved or are on the way to achieving what we wanted back in January? The sad fact is probably not a lot of us, some research estimates that around only 1 in 5 actually succeed in fulfilling their resolutions!

Many join a gym with the intention of bettering themselves, but joining a gym in itself is not going to get you fit and neither is walking through the door every other day, it’s what you do when you get there that changes you! This is where most people slip up!

They do what they’re used to or stick to a basic programme set by a gym instructor. This is not the best plan of action as doing what your used to is most likely to be ineffective – remember: what you’ve done in the past has gotten you where you are today! Most gyms give out a general programme when you sign up which usually ensures you can use machines safely but does it take into account your individual needs? Probably not! 
 
Matt has a wealth of knowledge that will help to ensure you achieve what it is you want to do. Not in the business of making promises he cant keep, he'll make sure your goals are realistic, that way you will succeed! He’ll sit with you, write down your goal, and break it up into small achievable stages so you can see the path ahead just like a road map to your destination. All the obstacles you will or may face can be addressed and strategies to overcome them can be implemented well in advance. For example home workouts can be designed for days where you cant make it to the gym. He will work with you monitoring and documenting your progress along the way, showing you your improvements, making the results visible illustrating the rewards for all your hard effort. Hopefully this will be enough to spur you on to further success! If you can see the benefits of what your doing you won’t give up!
